About Us
House of Moses is a Rastafari family run establishment founded in 1992 and is located in the heart of Toronto’s Kensington Market.
Rastafari states that ‘the family is the strength of the nation’. Underlying the foundation of the Rastafari family is the belief in the following: The humanity of God and the divinity of man – God is man and Man is God and God is found within every man. The colors that represent Rastafari are Red, Green and Gold. The Green stands for Mother Earth and the Red stands for the blood of black martyrs that were shed around the world during their struggle for liberation, equal rights, and justice. Gold represents the wealth and riches of the homeland, Africa.
House of Moses aims to inspire individuals to embody a natural living (Ital levity) through the use of organic and sustainable products. All products are produced via fair trade as it contributes to sustainable development of developing countries. The origin of the products are both local and international e.g. waist beads and necklaces made on site at the store, Shea butter imported from Ghana and Incense from India.
House of Moses serves both the Afro-Caribbean community and the wider Canadian conscious community. It is a bridge that links the North American, African and Caribbean Diasporas in search of authentic cultural products.
We are always excited for every newcomer who wishes to join our family and make House of Moses an abode!
